Basic Science and Humanities Basic Science and Humanities- the name itself denotes that it is the foundation of all sciences and elementary understanding of how people think and behave. The Basic Science & Humanities Department was started in the year 2008. Educational arena is incomplete without this department. English, Engineering Physics, Engineering Chemistry, Mathematics & Environmental Sciences are the five major domains of this department. Engineering curriculum essentially includes these subjects as they become the base from which all advanced sciences draw their strength. Unique feature of VITAE is, highly dedicated faculty members with very strong academic background and experience. The Department provides an outstanding research environment with the aid of qualified faculty. Each faculty of this department works with great perseverance to achieve the goal and in contributing effectively to the student's overall development. Science & Humanities department handles engineers and technologists to become more enlightened intellectually and analytically. It is a cardinal rule that it is difficult to advance by ignoring science and humanities in the days of globalization. It is mandatory on every student's part to realize the true potential of science & humanities and enrich him/her to acquire basic strength for an enviable future.
Structure of B.Tech 1st Year Course
A Global Language -English is a universal language. As the world is marching towards Globalization, every individual is compelled to learn this Global language. The knowledge of English Language is believed to be a passport to high learning. English as a subject is focused to train the communicative skills like reading, writing, listening and speaking to students.
All engineering disciplines require a significant amount of mathematics. Various Mathematical principles are applied in software development. Different mathematical tools are practically applied in design of structures, design and construction of machines, vehicles etc.
Physics provides quantitative and analytical skills required analyzing data and solving problems in the sciences, engineering and technology. Physics contributes to the most of the developments in all engineering domains. Engineering students can develop problem solving and thinking skills through learning physics.
Chemistry is one subject which gives adequate knowledge about the applications involved in the aerospace, mechanical, environmental and other engineering fields. Knowledge of chemistry plays a vital role in engineering profession enabling the potential engineers to understand and to perform successfully while working on multidisciplinary tasks.
C and Data Structures
C is one of the high-level languages designed for general purpose programming. It is used for writing simple programs like personal amusement to complex industrial applications. It is well suited for writing both system software and business packages. C language is applied to develop programs for Banking/Insurance, Games, and Telecommunication Systems, media etc.,
Engineering Drawing is a basic course for all undergraduate Engineering disciplines. Engineering Drawing is considered as the language of engineers. This course is aimed at providing basic understanding of the fundamentals of visualization, graphic theory, standards & conventions of drawing, the tools of drawing and its applications.
Engineering mechanics is the key prerequisite course to the sequence of courses for Mechanical engineering .It deals with mechanism of machines, stress analysis and design of mechanical systems.
ENGLISH COMMUNICATION SKILLS LAB:-The Language Lab focuses on the production and practice of sounds of language and familiarizes the students with the use of English in everyday situations and contexts. It trains students to use language appropriately to face interviews, group discussion and public speaking. In ELCS lab the students are trained to succeed in industry/ technical profession through global, rigorous education.
ENGINEERING PHYSICS LAB:-The main objective of conducting Physics experiments is to give exposure to various experimental skills which are very essential for an Engineering student, from various areas of physics, like Physical Optics, basic electrical, electronics and magnetism.
ENGINEERING CHEMISTRY LAB:-The main objective of the Chemistry experiments is to develop practical aspects required for understanding intricacies of the subject. It also gives adequate exposure to the applied chemistry aspects in different disciplines of engineering.
COMPUTER PROGRAMMING LAB:-Lab provides an opportunity to write basic programs in C language. It provides practical exposure to the students to develop programs for financial applications, gaming etc.,
IT WOKSHOP:-The IT Workshop is a training lab course for engineers. It provides training on PC Hardware, Internet, and World Wide Web. It provides a comprehensive overview of Ms-Word, Ms-Excel, Ms-PowerPoint and Publisher.
ENGINEERING WORKSHOP:-Engineering drawing demonstrates an understanding of workshop safety regulations. It provides an opportunity to identify and use of marking out tools, hand tools, and measuring equipment. Practical knowledge of welding process, joint design and the application of welding is facilitated in the lab.
